Lowri Evans 1This week it is our pleasure to welcome Welsh singer Lowri Evans to Clwb Acwstig Seend!  Malc first came across her singing and playing by her camper in a field at Village Pump Folk Festival a couple of years ago and was instantly blown away by her gorgeous vocals.  Lowri sings both in English and her native tongue so we might learn a few new words this week. The poor lass has to be in Llanelli early the next morning for a radio interview so let’s give her a night to make it all worth it!  Hopefully the weather will be a bit cooler too, not that I want to wish it away just yet!

“Wonderful singer songwriter” Bob Harris BBC Radio 2

“Lowri Evans has surely cut one of the albums of this or any other year. It’s simply a dream” Rock ’n’ Reel (R2)

“Class act” Martin Simpson

“Fantastic voice, can’t wait to get my little mitts on the new album” Frank Hennessy BBC Radio Wales

“Evans is like one of those rare gold nuggets, not often found, nestling within the Welsh valleys”  Isthismusic.com

David WaddingtonThis week we have the supremely talented David Waddington from Salisbury taking the main slot having been a number of times as support artist. David is an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter and has a long history of touring and was in Toyah’s band years ago. Whilst he plays mostly his own material he also does great cover versions of others. He also has looping kit and isn’t afraid to use it.

In support slot this week is Jasmine Beth on tour over here from Australia, stunning vocals and guitar and we are delighted she’s coming to play for us!
